This year the St. Landry Parish School Board will host a summer learning program for children in grades K through 8, providing not only Language Arts and Math tutoring in a small group setting but also enrichment experiences that will enable students to excel in the 2021- 2022 school year. Students will have opportunities to take virtual field trips, learn about science and technology, engage in social living projects, play sports, and develop an appreciation for art, theater, music, and more. The 4-week program will be offered June 7th through July 1st. Students will be offered transportation to and from the program, and meals will be provided. Additionally, administrative offices will be closed to the public. We will continue to consult with school administrators, the National Weather Service, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness in the decision-making progress regarding the re-opening of schools. Hazardous road conditions and power outages have resulted in the district’s decision to close facilities for our students, bus drivers, and employees’ safety. We will continue to monitor road conditions and consult with the NWS and the Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEM) in order to ensure the safety of our students and employees.
