Dear Port Barre High Community, Families, and Town,

Thank you for all you do for our children. Each day, I welcome every student and remind them that they matter to the Port Barre staff. We are committed to giving them the best instruction and are working tirelessly to improve our campus and facilities for their benefit. As I’ve said since day one, "Our kids deserve better." I believe that deeply and hope my efforts reflect that belief.

I ask that you please read this message and use the millage calculator linked above and below for your convenience. The facts are clear: we are one of the lowest-taxing parishes in the state, and it has been 40 years since we last addressed a millage for our schools. I live here, I pay taxes here, and my children deserve more. Please review the information, consider the facts, and make the decision you feel is best — I will respect your choice.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this and for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Coach Mac

Good morning, Red Devil family, As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, I want to take a moment to personally thank each and every one of you for the incredible work you do every single day for the students of Port Barre High School. Teaching is far more than a profession — it is a calling. Every lesson you prepare, every encouraging word you speak, every late afternoon spent helping a student, and every sacrifice you make does not go unnoticed. You are the heartbeat of this school and the foundation of our success. Our students may not always realize it in the moment, but the impact you have on their lives will last forever. You are shaping futures, building confidence, inspiring dreams, and creating opportunities that extend far beyond the walls of our classrooms. This year has brought challenges, long days, and moments that required extra patience and strength, yet you continued to show up for our kids with passion, commitment, and love. That says everything about the character of this staff. I am proud to serve alongside a group of educators who truly care about children and who continue to make Port Barre High a special place. Because of you, our students are supported, our community is stronger, and our Red Devil tradition continues to thrive. On behalf of our administration and our entire school community, thank you for your dedication, your resilience, and your unwavering belief in our students. We appreciate you more than words can express. Enjoy your week, know that you are valued, and remember — it is a great day to be a Red Devil. Coach Mac #CommunityStrong

For Staff Appreciation week, students across our campus are sending letters to the staff members that have made a huge impact. Port Barre staff members help our students grow in many different ways and to show appreciation, write a letter to a staff member who has made a deep impact on you this year in shaping who you are. Parents, fill this out for someone who has made an impact on your child.
